How do I register my qualification and join as a Student Member?

When you enrol onto a qualification, your study centre will register your qualification with the CIPD. You’ll get an email from the CIPD (to the email address provided by your study centre). This will include a link to register as a Student Member, if you are not already an active member. We’ll also ask you to confirm your qualification details. 

Make sure you register for membership using the same email address we contact you on. You’ll then be able to view your qualification details and confirm them (or query them if necessary). You'll also be able to amend your contact details if you need to. 

Throughout your CIPD qualification your work will be moderated by the CIPD. (Unless studying a university programme.) To do this, we need you to be in active membership throughout your studies. 

Current CIPD members. After your study centre registers you with us for your course. We’ll email you to ask you to confirm your qualification. Please follow the instructions provided ensuring you log into your CIPD membership account. If you have any difficulties, contact CIPD Customer Services.

If you’ve not had a registration email from CIPD, please confirm with your study centre that they’ve registered you. You should also check your email address is correct. If the email address is correct and you’ve not received the email, please contact CIPD Customer Service.

A great way to make yourself stand out is to gain some work experience while you study. 

St John’s Ambulance is often looking for volunteers to work in HR for them. This can be as little as three hours per week. (You’ll find lots of charities have HR volunteering opportunities.)

Qualification certificates for university programmes will be awarded by the university.

They'll contact you about these certificates.

Your university will also notify us when you've successfully completed your qualification.

Once we've processed the admin, we'll email you a PDF result confirmation letter to your preferred email address.

If you're an active CIPD member, we'll issue you with a membership certificate at your new grade in the post.

It's important that you keep your contact details up to date. Check that your name, postal and email addresses are up to date. You can do this by checking your details your profile on the CIPD website.

CIPD Qualifications

If you successfully complete a CIPD qualification, we’ll send you a CIPD qualification certificate in the post. We’ll also email you a PDF of your certificate on the day we print it.

If you’re in active membership, you’ll gain CIPD accreditation (letters after your name). We’ll send you a membership certificate at your new grade in the post. 

PLEASE NOTE: If you live in the UK, we will post your certificates to your preferred address. If you live outside the UK, your CIPD qualification certificate will go to your study centre to send to you.

University Programmes
