In November 2017 the Education Select Committee opened an inquiry into the quality of apprenticeships and skills training. In particular, it sought to examine whether employers, learners and tax payers are getting value for the time and money invested in training, and whether more needs to be done to detect poor-quality provision.
The CIPD’s response was based on then-unpublished data assessing the early impacts of the apprenticeship levy.
