The CIPD, the professional body for HR and people development, is pleased to announce a new alliance with Engage for Success, the voluntary movement committed to promoting employee engagement. The alliance will see the CIPD taking full ownership of Engage for Success and responsibility for its operations from 1 July 2018.

The move reflects the fact that engagement is a core theme for the HR profession and brings together two organisations at the forefront of this issue. Their combined voice will seek to influence wider policy thinking and elevate the importance of employee engagement in creating more productive and aligned workforces.

With the CIPD’s support, the Engage for Success movement will continue to bring together a wide community of practitioners and volunteers to understand and address employee engagement challenges and opportunities across the UK.

We have much to be proud of with Engage for Success’s achievements since 2011. We are excited about the future with the CIPD and together we can be even more effective in growing awareness about the power and potential of employee engagement, providing evidence and research that organisations who engage and inspire their employees produce world class levels of innovation, performance and productivity.

The CIPD has started the process of transition within an intention to finalise the supporting governance by the end of June 2018. The Engage for Success (EfS) brand and the movement will be retained but the entity and operations will formally transfer to the CIPD. The Engage for Success Board, including David and Nita, will stay connected in an Advisory Board capacity to the CIPD and continue to support the ongoing direction and growth of the movement.

Both the CIPD and Engage for Success wish to thank Cathy Brown, who stepped down from her role as Executive Director for Engage for Success at the end of March, for her leadership and significant contribution to the movement since 2011. Cathy has been working with both organisations on a transition plan and will join the Engage for Success Advisory Board.

Faran Johnson from the Ministry of Justice – a senior HR practitioner with more than 20 years’ experience of global HR leading organisational transformation – has been seconded to CIPD as EfS Managing Director. Faran will take over the day-to-day leadership and responsibility for EfS, working closely with Katerina Rüdiger, the CIPD’s Head of Member and Community Engagement.
