Launched this week, the CIPD has released new cutting-edge learning content. With 72 hours of learning available, the new courses will help people professionals to succeed in a rapidly changing world of work.
At the core of the learning content is the new Profession Map. The map provides the foundation of knowledge and behaviours to help move the profession forward, individually and collectively. The new learning content helps people professionals apply this knowledge and behaviours in their everyday practice.
Learners can therefore use the content to reflect on where their current skill and knowledge level sits against the new Profession Map. It also acts as a great way for CIPD members to support their professional development and deliver on the CPD commitment they make as a member.
The new content is exclusive for members and based entirely online. Members can easily access the courses anywhere, at any time, with a CIPD log-in, allowing them to learn around their other work commitments.
Each of the eight courses include multiple ways of learning:
- Individual reflective practice will help users to improve the way they work.
- Supportive community environments will allow users to discuss their learning experiences, gain insights and confidence, and share knowledge.
- Targeted actions for users to apply to their learning.
Each of the courses also includes videos featuring thought leaders, case studies from different industries, downloadable interactive workbooks, curated content and much more. The eight topic areas covered by the courses are:
- ethical practice
- professional courage and influence
- valuing people
- working inclusively
- commercial drive
- passion for learning
- insights focused
- situational decision-making.
These courses are the first in a comprehensive series of new learning content based on the new Profession Map. Eventually new learning will also incorporate both the core knowledge and specialist knowledge levels of the new Profession Map. The content will ultimately be housed on a dedicated learning platform which will be designed to support people professionals throughout their career.
With the CIPD as a learning partner, people professionals get the support they need to reach better decisions and outcomes, act with confidence, perform effectively, and drive change within their organisations.
