CIPD launches new State of the Profession survey
A bold new international benchmark for the profession
A bold new international benchmark for the profession
The CIPD has launched a bold new survey to create an annual benchmark for the people profession. The survey will enable the CIPD to provide an authoritative, international perspective on the career journeys, professional aspirations, and organisational demands of practitioners today.
CIPD Research Advisor, Louisa Baczor, comments: “Ultimately, this insight will help us guide members’ career development, and ensure we’re providing support that empowers them to champion the people agenda in their organisations. And more importantly for practitioners, that benchmark and the findings of the survey will enable them to reflect on their career path, what’s important to them, and what can help them to achieve their goals.”
Baczor continues: “As people professionals, we’re often tasked with looking at the bigger picture for our organisations and where we’re heading, but we need to do the same for our profession. This survey will provide a clear snapshot of our professional community, showing how we’re evolving and where we need to invest in our own development, to equip us for tomorrow.”
People professionals (whether HR, L&D, OD, or any of the profession’s many disciplines) are encouraged to take part in the 12 minute survey to share their views and experiences.
Building on HR Outlook
The final CIPD/Workday HR Outlook – a UK-based report focusing on trends in HR – was released in January 2017. The State of the Profession survey will build on that work, but with a bold new focus on creating a benchmark for the profession, looking at what’s important now, as well as what is needed to be fit for the future.
Part of the CIPD’s Profession for the Future programme of work
The survey is part of the CIPD’s ongoing Profession for the Future strategy to ensure the people profession is ready to embrace the future world of work.
When will the report be ready?
The report will be launched in the autumn.
