A message from chief executive Peter Cheese on events in the Middle East

I know all of us will have been following events in the Middle East in recent days with growing concern and alarm. 

These are very difficult times and our thoughts are very much with all of our colleagues, families and friends who may be in the region, either living there and working there or indeed who've been caught up in terms of travel restrictions.

These are very important times for our profession where we need to step up and support our organisations, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Making sure that of course we're following government guidance, which I think is very clear in all the countries for people to stay at home and keep themselves safe as far as possible.

But it's also recognising many of our colleagues across our organisations outside the region may well have family and friends who are operating in the region as well.

So their well-being and making sure that we're keeping clear communications open, listening to the concerns and supporting people throughout these times is very important.

As the CIPD, we stand to support all of you.

We have good resources around helping organisations manage through times of crises and of course, together.

We all want to send our best wishes to anybody caught up in this and of course, our hope for peaceful resolutions in the not too distant future.
