Discussing the challenges and opportunities posed by protected disclosures and whistleblowing, the CIPD Western Region was joined by Professor Kate Kenny, NUIG, who has researched and developed tried and tested practical tools for speak-up arrangements (or speak-up systems) in organisations and recommendations based on best practice.

The model proposed for the effective development of sustainable speak-up systems is grounded in recent empirical international research in a wide range of organisational settings, as well as drawing from relevant theories (The Whistleblowing Guide, Kenny et al. 2019).
