The CIPD’s Mary Connaughton will begin her two-year term in January
The CIPD in Ireland has announced that Mary Connaughton, Strategic Engagement Director, has been appointed to the Board of the European Association of People Management (EAPM).
Mary Connaughton was elected to the board following a vote at the organisation’s annual meeting in Brussels and will take up her position in January.
A not-for-profit organisation, the EAPM is the umbrella body of national HR related associations across all of Europe. Its purpose is to improve the quality of HR management and practice to deliver on the core purpose of supporting the development and performance of individuals, companies and societies.
“It’s a privilege to be given the opportunity to join the Board of the EAPM. I have been contributing to the EAPM for a number of years, co-founding International HR Day held on the 20th of May every year and was chair of its working group until 2024. We welcomed the board of the EAPM to Dublin earlier this year, and I now look forward to deepening Ireland’s engagement as well as expanding the EAPM’s voice and impact.”
“It’s great to see the CIPD in Ireland have a place at the core of this European body. Playing our part in the international arena is an important way of representing our members in the CIPD in Ireland. Mary’s involvement and participation in this body have been long standing. Having a seat on the board provides a good foundation and enables strong representation as we enter into Ireland’s term hosting the EU Presidency in 2026.”
The CIPD has been championing better work and working lives for over 100 years. It helps organisations thrive by focusing on their people, supporting our economies and societies.
