The CIPD Council has elected Brian Walters to the CIPD board, where he’ll join a team of trustees responsible for helping the CIPD to uphold its charitable purpose of championing better working lives.

Brian brings over 20 years’ marketing and commercial experience in healthcare, business and professional services, entertainment and sport. He has spent the majority of his career helping global professional bodies to transform their digital experience and expand into new markets. He is currently Director of Markets at the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and has previously led marketing teams at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, the British Medical Association (BMA) and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).  Brian also launched WorkLifeWell, a training provider which supports HR Directors and people managers to develop their employee wellbeing strategy and build a happier and healthier culture.

“People are the biggest priority for any employer who wants to nurture a happy, healthy and productive culture. The CIPD has made huge strides championing better work and working lives and I look forward to playing my part in helping the organisation fulfil its purpose going forward.”

Brian Walters, CIPD Trustee

Brian took part in an open recruitment process and his nomination was endorsed by the CIPD’s People Culture and Remuneration Committee and the full CIPD board. He will serve an initial three-year term and is eligible to stand for re-election to serve a second term.
