Welcome to our branch

Welcome to the CIPD Branch in Shropshire. We are here to support all our HR, Learning & Development and Organisational Development members, as well as those studying for CIPD qualifications.

As Chair of the CIPD Branch in Shropshire, I’m delighted to be working with an enthusiastic and dynamic volunteer committee, to bring our Shropshire members an interesting and varied programme of events and networking opportunities, wherever they are on their people profession journey.

Our aim is to be the local voice of the CIPD, working to support you in your development, providing opportunities to exchange ideas and share best practice.

Please do engage with us at our online and live events and pop down to the end of this page to sign up for our monthly Branch Newsletter which gives details and booking information for all our upcoming events.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Get involved

Our branch events and webinars are available to view and book on Eventbrite. We publicise our programme of activities via branch newsletters and on our LinkedIn group page, so please do interact with us and keep in touch. Our branch events are free to CIPD members.

We also maintain strong links with the other CIPD branches in the Midlands, which gives our CIPD members access to further regional events and opportunities to network with members from other neighbouring branches. In addition, we have been building strong links with providers of CIPD-accredited courses in Shropshire, including local colleges and universities.

CIPD Shropshire is run by a volunteer committee of enthusiastic HR, L&D and OD practitioners and student members and supported by a team from the CIPD head office. Committee members are directly involved with the planning and running of branch events, giving them great opportunities to collaborate with others, develop new skills and keep updated with CIPD good practice and current guidance.

If you would like to learn more about the committee and any current volunteer vacancies, please come and have a chat with us at our next event where committee members can be identified by their rainbow lanyards, or email us.

Networking and learning

With workshops, round tables, panel discussions and expert speakers, our thought-provoking events cover everything our community needs. Network, learn and stay up to date.

Join one of our special interest groups

We bring together people professionals with a common interest to network, share ideas and learn from one another. Please email us if you’d like to join one of our special interest groups.

Employment law

We have an established and popular special interest group (SIG) which meets several times a year to discuss and explore relevant employment law topics and issues. We are very fortunate to have these sessions hosted by an experienced and knowledgeable barrister, giving important legal context and interpretation of recent case law.

Get in touch to find out more. And let us know your ideas for other special interest groups.
