We continue to work hard to provide a diverse and comprehensive programme of events for members, enabling us to share the benefit and expertise of a range of high-profile speakers and leaders in our profession.

Mentoring and coaching scheme
The branch currently operates a mentoring and coaching scheme, comprising trained HR mentors and coaches who have volunteered to support other members within the branch. The aim of our scheme is to provide members at whatever level and stage in their career with support and guidance from a more experienced HR practitioner for approximately six months.
The branch is keen to offer help to members, whether they're currently studying a CIPD qualification, or are an experienced HR practitioner. Do you need support and help with a project or assignment? Are you looking for your first HR job role or a change in role? Perhaps you're thinking of moving from an operational to a strategic HR role, or simply need support with upgrading your level of membership.
If you're looking for a mentor/coach or are interested in becoming one of our volunteer mentors or coaches then we would like to hear from you. Details about our forthcoming workshops can be found on our events page.
With workshops, round tables, panel discussions and expert speakers, our thought-provoking events cover everything our community needs. Network, learn and stay up to date.

We aim to:
Are you a sole HR practitioner, typically working in an SME, without the support of a corporate HR department? Are you the single source of HR expertise within your organisation? Or are you self-employed, a freelance practitioner or an independent consultant?
Our independents' group provides an opportunity for members to discuss the challenges they face and share solutions to common problems encountered in their work. We meet on a regular basis and on occasions organise practical workshops on key workplace issues. The group provides a great support network for people who don't have the opportunity to speak to like-minded HR professionals at work.
