Learn, collaborate and network with CIPD members and people professionals in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire
I’m delighted to welcome you to the CIPD Branch in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. We are passionate volunteers with a purpose to promote and champion the objectives of the CIPD. We also act as a channel to help local members network with like-minded professionals, continue their professional development and keep up to date with the latest people trends. We believe you can benefit most from your membership by being actively involved with the branch activities.
This may be through attending events, contributing to our newsletters, participating in our online discussions or, if you're interested in having direct involvement in our branch, joining our branch committee. Whatever level of involvement you are able to provide, have no doubt you'll find it valuable and enjoyable.
We look forward to seeing you soon.

Our members rate their access to a local branch in their top three membership benefits. Come along to our branch events to discover other CIPD benefits. Explore the issues and trends impacting our profession. Network, learn and share ideas with people professionals in our area.
Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire are very diverse areas; we're a large branch which aims to cater for its member geographically across the region. We continue to work hard to provide a diverse and comprehensive programme of events for members, enabling us to share the benefit and expertise of a range of high-profile speakers and leaders in our profession.
We're always looking for new volunteers to join our well-established and friendly committee, to raise our profile and support the running of our annual events programme.
If you're interested in finding out more, do come along to one of our events and talk to one of the team. We may have immediate opportunities, or we may ask you to join our mailing list so that we can contact you when an opportunity becomes available that matches your skills. Either way, we’ll ask you to complete short form, so we can find out more about you and the skills you have to offer.
With workshops, round tables, panel discussions and expert speakers, our thought-provoking events cover everything our community needs. Network, learn and stay up to date.

This autumn (2025), we are excited to launch two brand-new groups. Get in touch to find out more, and let us know what other special interest groups you’d like to see in the future.
The group provides a forum for professionals working in training and development.
We aim to:
Are you a sole HR practitioner, typically working in an SME, without the support of a corporate HR department? Are you the single source of HR expertise within your organisation? Or are you self-employed, a freelance practitioner or an independent consultant?
Our independents' group provides an opportunity for members to discuss the challenges they face and share solutions to common problems encountered in their work. We meet on a regular basis and on occasions organise practical workshops on key workplace issues. The group provides a great support network for people who don't have the opportunity to speak to like-minded HR professionals at work.
