Learn, collaborate and network with CIPD members and people professionals in Coventry and Warwickshire
Welcome to the CIPD Coventry and Warwickshire branch. We're an active branch with a handful of members living and working in the area. Whatever your professional needs and interests we're here to support you. If you are a member, we believe you can benefit most from your membership by being actively involved with the branch activities.
With our geography at the heart of the Midlands, we especially welcome members from surrounding areas who find it easy to attend our events. We run a full range of different types of events covering a breadth of topics which people in the People Profession and L&D want to learn more about. We also have a thriving special interest group for self-employed and sole practitioners. We're also flexible enough to welcome ideas from all our members for different types of events or new topics – if there is something you would like to see, please get in touch.
The branch also works collaboratively with other local branches in the region to develop member events, conferences and CPD opportunities.

This autumn (2025), we are excited to launch two brand-new groups. Get in touch to find out more, and let us know what other special interest groups you’d like to see in the future.
The branch runs a well-established special interest group (SIG) for members who are self-employed, independent practitioners or HR and L&D consultants. The branch provides SIG members with networking opportunities to share ideas, to meet others in similar work circumstances and development events specifically aimed at the learning and development needs identified for SIG members. The group also provides support to members new to self-employment or considering becoming independent.
This SIG was first set up in 2001. It has established monthly meetings called asSIGnations which take place on the first Monday of each month at the Stratford Manor Hotel from 10:00 to 11:30. There is no need to commit in advance, you can just go along to meet other SIG members in the relaxed and informal atmosphere. During the pandemic, these meetings have been taking place online, so please check on the branch events page to find out more about the next asSIGnations meeting.
In addition to the monthly networking meetings, the group also runs regular development events covering topics such as business planning, developing your brand, social media strategy and marketing.

The group is open to Chartered Fellows and Companions members of the CIPD and those is HRD and Head of HR roles, with group meetings by invitation only. For further information, contact the senior practitioners group and we can send you details of upcoming activities.
