Membership for organisations

There are two main routes to CIPD membership – either non-study or study. 

Non-study routes – based on professional experience 

• Experience Assessment: A fast-track route to CIPD Associate or Chartered membership based on individual team member's real-world experience. It recognises their capabilities without completing a qualification. 

• Upgrading: If your team members are already CIPD members, we offer a shorter experience assessment route to the next tier of membership, provided they can demonstrate they're already working at that level.  

• Fast track to Fellow: An exclusive route to CIPD Chartered Fellow membership, available to a hand-selected group of senior leaders that allows them to gain recognition for their contribution to the profession.​ 

Study routes – learn and build capability  

• CIPD qualifications: Aligned to the CIPD Profession Map, by studying for a qualification your team members will gain the knowledge, values and behaviours required to make an impact and solve the unique challenges your organisation is facing.

• Accredited Programme: You can also become eligible for membership after completing an Accredited Programme as one of our learning and development solutions.  

• Apprenticeships: Choosing CIPD as your End Point Assessment Organisation means you can offer CIPD membership once your apprentices have successfully completed their End Point Assessment.​
