CIPD digital badges and certificates FAQs

We’ll send your CIPD digital badge and certificate to you from mybadges@cipd.co.uk. Once you receive them, you can: 

• Bookmark the 'My badges' page 
• Download a PDF of your certificate or a PNG file of your badge 
• Add it to your mobile digital wallet 
• Create an optional Accredible account to store them in a credential wallet

You can share your badge by: 

• Sharing the unique URL  
• Sending via email 
• Adding it to your LinkedIn profile 
• Posting on social media 
• Embedding it in your email signature

If you renewed before 1 July, you’ll get your digital badge and certificate in the week commencing 1 July.

If you renewed after 1 July, or have joined or rejoined (rather than renewed), you’ll receive your badge and certificate within 7-10 working days. 

If you renewed by Direct Debit, you’ll receive your digital badge and certificate within 7–10 working days of your first payment, if due on 1 July, or after setting up your Direct Debit.

If you've upgraded your membership or completed the Experience Assessment, you'll receive them within 10 working days of your outcome.

If you've completed your studies, you'll receive them within 10 working days of getting your qualification certificate.

Please note: digital credentials are valid for the membership year they’re issued in. If you’re on a 15 or 18-month membership, you’ll receive two badges - one for the current year (valid until 30 June), and another on 1 July for the new membership year, valid for 12 months.

Check your inbox for an email from mybadges@cipd.co.uk. This will be sent to your preferred email address on your CIPD account. If you can't find it, you can retrieve your CIPD digital badges and certificates here. For more details, visit the Accredible guide.

If your CIPD digital badge or certificate contains incorrect information, such as grades or expiry dates, or if you need a name change, please contact us using the details below. 

Please note: the ‘valid until’ date on our digital credentials is for the last day of the membership year they were issued for. New digital credentials are issued for each membership year.

We no longer send physical certificates by default. However, you can download and print your certificate from the Accredible platform.

Click on a badge or certificate to go to its dedicated webpage, where you’ll find details about the membership grade and more options. From there, click 'Verify Credential' to confirm the credential was issued by a verified Accredible issuer and who it belongs to.

Please note: this verifies the credential itself, not current membership status. CIPD badges and certificates are valid only for the 12-month membership period in which they were issued.

When your CIPD membership ends, your badge and certificate will show an ‘expired’ banner. Rejoin or renew your membership to get a new badge.

Please also check that you're viewing the badge for the current membership year. A new one is issued each year when you renew, and badges from previous years will show as expired.
