These datasets demonstrate trends in different aspects of the employee–employer relationship, drawn from CIPD research in 2026. They cover:

  • job satisfaction as a primary outcome measure of overall job quality, linked to both performance and retention
  • likelihood of recommending one’s employer as a measure of employee goodwill that is also linked to future recruitment
  • willingness to work harder than one has to in order to help their organisation or employer, as a measure of discretionary effort
  • making innovative suggestions to improve quality of the team or department, as a measure of contextual performance
  • likelihood of voluntarily quitting job in the next 12 months, as a measure of retention.

All five of these outcomes should be of interest to employers. The associations between different job quality dimensions and outcomes provide useful insights into the areas that influence employee views of their work and point to the practices associated with improved performance.
