The Employment Rights Act 2025 has introduced changes to paternity and unpaid parental leave. These changes impact on policies and processes. This page brings together the resources and information you need to understand what's changed and how to comply with the changes.

Since 6 April 2026 there is also a day-one right to Bereaved Partner's Paternity Leave. While this entitlement does not fall within the scope of the Employment Rights Act 2025, a checklist has been provided for members to support organisations that are reviewing their range of family leave policies and guidance.
