Welcome to our branch

As part of the CIPD in London, we contribute to the programme of events run by CIPD branches across the capital every year - and we hope to see you in person in West London or at one of our online events whenever you can make it. We aim to offer members access to an exciting range of free events and activities each year - as part of the benefits of your CIPD membership. Our events offer the chance to add to your CPD and make new contacts in a supportive and inclusive environment.

We aim to offer interactive sessions and the opportunity to hear leading-edge thinking from a range of experts in HR, OD, and other related disciplines, to consolidate our professional knowledge, and to network with fellow professionals, exchanging ideas and sharing experiences. We aim to cover hot topics that reflect the strategic focus of the CIPD year-on-year and we run groups that focus on particular professional roles and areas of interest. We typically run popular employment law sessions during the year. All our events are open to any interested members.

Please come along with colleagues or on your own. The events are friendly and informal; with food and drink available at our face-to-face events and time to network and make new contacts. Whether you attend regularly or are coming for the first time, we look forward to seeing you there, either in-person or online events.

Get involved

The branch is run by a group of volunteer members who all contribute to organising the branch events programme. Our events get a very positive response from those who attend – and we seek and act on the feedback and suggestions we receive. We do our best to reflect the kind of subjects we know are of interest to you – whether you’re a generalist or specialist, an experienced practitioner or just starting out.

In the past we have tried a variety of locations for events, and most have tended to be run in Ealing or Hammersmith. We also sometimes work in partnership with our colleagues from the South-West London branch and run events in locations convenient for both locations of branch members, as well as being open more widely across London. Our annual programme includes events that aim to provide:

  • insight into a wide range of topics relevant to the future of work
  • information about the latest developments in professional practice – including OD, L&D and reward as well as employment law
  • mentoring, coaching and career development (with our Mentoring and Coaching Group & Career Advisory Group)
  • help to those currently studying or just starting out
  • a consultancy network – with sessions of particular interest for those working as internal or external consultants

We are a diverse branch committee, and welcome anyone interested in getting involved to get in touch, as we are always keen to hear new ideas and ensure that we represent the West London HR community.

We are open to setting up new special interest groups if members would like to let us know areas of interest to consider.

Our online branch events can be watched afterwards via YouTube.
