Next steps 

After you’ve handed in your final assessment your study centre will mark your work and submit your results to us. For CIPD qualifications, to make sure the results are fair, valid, and reliable, we moderate them during one of our moderation windows. 

While you wait for your results, read the Next Steps checklist below so you know what to expect. You can also explore the support available to help you with your next steps after studying.

Check your personal details

For people who've studied a CIPD qualification or a CIPD accredited university programme. 

  • Log into MyProfileon the CIPD website. 
  • Check your contact details are up to date (e.g. preferred postal and e-mail address). 

This is so we send your certificates to the right place.

What you can expect to receive

Successfully completed a CIPD qualification 

You'll receive a qualification and unit credit certificates. A PDF version will be sent to you by e-mail and a printed copy in the post.  

If your preferred address is based in the UK, we’ll send your printed qualification certificate to that address. If your preferred address is based outside the UK, we’ll send it to your study centre to forward on to you.  

If you’re already a member and eligible for a higher grade, we'll also send you a new digital membership badge and certificate.

New membership grades are awarded to Student or Foundation members. This doesn't apply if you're already an Associate member or higher.

 

Partially completed a CIPD qualification 

If you’ve not managed to complete all required CIPD qualification units, you'll receive a unit credit certificate. This will show the units you’ve completed. We’ll email you a PDF certificate and post a printed copy.  

You’ll stay at your current membership grade.  

If your preferred address is based in the UK, we’ll send your printed unit credit certificate to that address. If your preferred address is based outside the UK, we’ll send it to your study centre to forward on to you.  

 

Successfully completed a CIPD accredited university programme 

Your university will award your degree certificate. They will contact you about this. Your university will also notify CIPD when you complete your degree. We’ll then email you a PDF result confirmation letter. 

If you're an active CIPD member you'll also achieve Associate membership (unless you were already an Associate member grade while you were studying). We'll email you a new digital membership badge and certificate.

When will you receive your certificate

Only applicable to those who’ve fully completed a CIPD qualification.

Share your success

Share the news that you’ve passed your qualification on Linkedin, Instagram or Tiktok. Whichever platform you use, show your network you really mean business! 

Use the hashtag ‘#CIPDWithYou’ so we can celebrate with you.  

Don't forget to update your CV and LinkedIn profile too!

Put your new credentials to good use

Show off your new membership credentials and get noticed. As an active CIPD member you can use the appropriate designation letters at the end of your name. For example: 

  • Foundation members- J Smith Foundation CIPD 
  • Associate Members- J Smith Assoc CIPD 

 

You can also share your new digital membership badge online with your network so you can showcase your membership. Find out more about digital badges here.

  • Post them on your social platforms
  • Add them to your LinkedIn profile
  • Embed them on your website or email signature
  • Share them via email

  • Stand out with proof of your professional knowledge
