Our latest annual report covers the year ending 30 June 2025. Over the past year we strengthened professional standards and recognition for people professionals worldwide, helping members showcase their impact and advance their careers.
Peter Cheese, Chief Executive, shares his reflections on a year of progress amid challenge and outlines our vision for 2026. His message celebrates what we have achieved together and looks ahead to the opportunities ahead, as we continue to deliver on our promise, support the profession and champion its voice.
Our global community has grown to c165,000 members, boosted by 45,000 people studying CIPD qualifications across more than 130 countries, creating an international network committed to professionalism and professional development.
We listened closely to our members and focused on delivering on our promise with practical, flexible support that meets their needs. Our AI tool, CIPD Buddy, now helps thousands of members access trusted information quickly, and engagement with CPD continues to grow, with 10,000 reflections logged this year.
Our Learning Hub also expanded, offering nine new courses. Including an Introduction to AI for HR and Employment law for Managers. We strengthened mentoring and peer-to-peer learning opportunities, making it easier for members to connect and grow their capability.
We invested in technology to improve how members learn, connect and stay informed. The HR People Pod now reaches 8,000 listeners per episode, while our Focus on campaigns which brought together the issues our members care about most, alongside the emerging themes shaping the future of our profession. These developments reflect our commitment to providing evidence based, relevant insight.
Our public policy work kept the voice of the people profession at the centre of national and international debate. This year we played an active role in shaping the Employment Rights Bill and engaging with the UK Government’s Make Work Pay plan, working directly with ministers, MPs and civil servants to represent the priorities of HR professionals and employers.
We also provided evidence on issues such as AI and job quality, and strengthened partnerships across Ireland, the Middle East and beyond to support capability building and fair, agile labour markets.
The CIPD Trust expanded its impact, supporting 1,110 people facing barriers to work, with more than 360 volunteers offering mentoring, guidance and employability support.
