Welcome to the CIPD!

By choosing a CIPD qualification, you’re taking a key step toward a successful career in the people profession.

To complete your studies, you’ll need to maintain membership throughout, which is essential for assessment submission and the moderation processes.

As a member, you’ll also gain access to study resources, career tools, and a network of professionals. Here you’ll find everything you need to set yourself up for success and make the most of your membership.

What’s the difference between a study centre and the CIPD?

This information only applies to those studying a CIPD qualification and is not applicable to those completing a university programme.

Step-by-step guide on getting started

1

I've enrolled with my study centre and confirmed my qualification registration with the CIPD

Your study centre will provide us with the details of the qualification you’re studying, which you’ll need to confirm to complete your registration with us.

Once we’ve received your details from your study centre, you’ll be sent an email from the CIPD with an invitation link to join as a Student Member. Register for membership using the same email address you provided to your study centre so we can find your qualification details. You'll be able to amend your contact details later if you need to.

If you don’t receive this email, check with your study centre that they have registered you correctly and have your correct email address. If you’re still having trouble, please contact our customer services team or call us on +44 (0) 20 8612 6208.

2

I've checked my account details and they’re correct

It's important that we have the right contact details for you as we don't want you to miss out from receiving important updates and member benefits such as the People Management magazine.

If you need to update your contact details, log into MyProfile, edit the information in the 'My details' tab and save your changes.

3

I've set up my email preferences

Visit the MyProfile portal to manage your communication preferences. Here you can let us know whether or not you want to receive physical copies of People Management magazine, select your local CIPD Branch that you want to receive updates from, and manage the newsletters that you want to get to stay up to date with the latest industry news, insights and offers.

I know what benefits are on offer and how to access them

As well as the wide range of resources, access to exclusive events and a professional community, CIPD members also gain free access to EBSCO for full-text articles from leading journals and magazines, a 20% discount on CIPD books on the Kogan Page bookshop, and 50% off HR-Inform Pro, a practical online tool designed to embed good HR practice in your organisation.

I've explored the resources in the Student Member area

The Student member area has everything to support your studies. Check out the study resources page to explore resources and assessment videos based on your CIPD qualification, as well as study tips, guides and more to support your studies.
