Anna Williams – Head of Policy and Inclusion at Moat Housing Association

Anna is passionate about working collaboratively with colleagues and customers to create truly inclusive organisations that enable people to thrive.
Having worked in the social housing sector for over 20 years, mostly in EDI roles, she’s currently Head of Policy and Inclusion at Moat, a housing association that provides affordable homes for rent and shared ownership in Kent, Essex, Sussex and London.

Chiara Pellegrini - Equity and Inclusion Adviser at Canterbury Christ Church University.

Chiara has previously worked as a researcher and associate lecturer at Newcastle University, with a focus on contemporary culture and gender identity. She has worked on a number of projects centred on EDI in Higher Education. At CCCU, she works on equity and inclusion processes, policies, training, and events.

Jon Opaye-Tetteh - Director of Equity and Inclusion and Canterbury Christ Church

University. A former police officer for Met Police and Sussex Police, Jon has worked for many years to champion culture change in policing. In April 2023, he joined CCCU and has been focusing on helping achieve CCCU's Vision 2030 by placing equity and inclusion its heart, through implementing our community and data driven Equity and Inclusion Strategy 2024-2027.

Lutfur Ali, CIPD's Senior Public Policy Adviser on Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Change

Lutfur Ali is Senior Policy and Practice Advisor for the CIPD and a Non-Executive Director (NED) for the Business Continuity Institute (BCI). He is an acclaimed leadership figure who has enabled the development and delivery of equalities, diversity and inclusion (EDI) policy, strategy, culture change and ethical application of technology in organisations.

He has seen how the effective delivery EDI can unlock people’s potential, transform organisations, improve people’s lives and business outcomes. Lutfur is a highly experienced NED and has served on several landmark Judicial Inquiries and Task Forces including the Zahid Mubarak Inquiry, the Prime Ministers Prevent Task Force and the International Ministerial Working Group on Illegal Working

Colin Smith - Partner in the Employment team at Brachers.

Colin has specialised in employment law for over 20 years. Colin is committed to finding solutions for his clients. Whether that may be a tricky workplace grievance or disciplinary all the way through to large scale collective redundancies, TUPE transfer or tribunal claims. Colin has provided training on discrimination and dignity at work to a variety of organisations over the past 20 years.


Elaine Bolton – Chair of the CIPD Branch in Kent

She is also the founder of Beckwith Consulting Ltd, which provides learning and development to public, private and third sector organisations on a wide range of issues, including diversity and inclusion. She will be sharing some of her findings across all sizes of organisations.
