A discussion with with Jonathan Rennie on new workers rights and sexual harassment rules.

This is a discussion about upcoming changes in employment legislation including the right to disconnect and the forthcoming rules around sexual harassment. This will be an interactive discussion and an opportunity to share thoughts about the impact of these changes.

Speaker: Jonathan Rennie

Jonathan is an experienced litigator who has worked exclusively in employment law since qualification.

He is dual qualified in Scotland and England and Wales and is recognised as an accredited specialist in employment law by the Law Society of Scotland. Jonathan has significant corporate experience having qualified as a Chartered Secretary and worked in house for FTSE 100 companies.

Jonathan regularly presents on employment law topics at conferences and seminars and has acted for both public and private sector clients in high value litigation including whistleblowing and disability discrimination claims.

He also chairs disciplinary panels for both the English Football Association and the Scottish Rugby Union as well as working with sports organisations on contentious employment matters including player and manager disputes and exits. He is appointed to Sport Resolutions legal arbitration panel and in 2023 was appointed to the Court of Arbitration for sport as a legal arbitrator on both the football and general sports panel. Jonathan is also a trustee and director of Street League, the sports employability charity.

Jonathan qualified in 2005.

  • Acting for a taxi operator in defending employment status claims that impacted on business model
  • Acting for a clean energy company in defending discrimination claims at the employment tribunal
  • Advising a biotechnology company on restrictive covenants and the recruitment of senior personnel
  • Providing restructuring advice to a construction company on a significant redundancy and streamlining project
