Welcome to our branch
Welcome to our South West Wales CIPD Branch – we cover a large and diverse area, both geographically and in terms of the organisations that fall within our region. Traditionally, we have focused on holding events for fellow people professionals looking to learn, share and network to help champion better work and working lives in their organisations. Given our geography, we have been delivering a mixture of in-person and virtual events since before the pandemic and will continue to do so.
I became involved with the branch in 2013, became vice-chair 2015, and stepped up to branch chair in 2021. I’m a passionate HR professional, and throughout my career, I’ve worked across various sectors since taking up my first HR role in 2010. Currently, I am Head of HR in a housing organisation, where I get the opportunity to put great HR into practice.
Our branch committee is made up of other equally passionate HR professionals, from a broad range of backgrounds and sectors. Together with our colleagues at CIPD in Wales, we organise and host a number of high-quality events for people professionals each year.

Get involved
Our main focus is on the events we run between September and March each year. Our branch events provide learning and networking opportunities for HR and L&D professionals from across sectors and at various stages of their careers.
As always, we continue to champion better work and working lives and dovetail with the wider national networks of the CIPD in Wales. We do our bit to help support HR professionals and engage in wider conversations around issues that impact on the workplace.
The easiest way to get involved is to come to one of our events, where you will find a great welcome and engaging content from our speakers.
