Welcome to our branch

Welcome to our CIPD branch community. We are proud to bring together HR and people development professionals at every stage of their career, creating a space where knowledge, experience, and ideas can be shared openly.

Our branch is committed to supporting your professional growth through a range of events, learning opportunities, and networking activities. Whether you are just starting out in your career or are an experienced practitioner, you will find opportunities here to connect, learn, and contribute.

We believe in the power of collaboration and continuous development. By being part of this branch, you are joining a supportive and inclusive community dedicated to advancing the people profession and making a positive impact in our workplaces and wider society.

On the Isle of Man, we enjoy a very local and  “Manx“ way of approaching challenges and issues and working together to support each other in the business HR community. Throughout the year, we offer a varied programme of events designed to inform, inspire, and connect our members. These include expert-led workshops, panel discussions, networking sessions, and practical seminars covering a wide range of topics across the people profession. Our events are not only an opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skills but also to exchange ideas, share experiences, and build valuable professional relationships.

Get involved

Our branch comprises a diverse range of People Professionals with a vast array of skills and experiences to share. We want to build a people-focused, friendly branch which represents and supports the unique island community we are working in.

Having listened to post-event feedback and examined the number of attendees at events in recent years, we now usually hold lunchtime events in central Douglas. Subjects covered in the last year include the use of AI, coaching for development, proposed Isle of Man employment law changes and wellbeing at work.

We're working towards providing greater input into public policy agendas which affect our working lives, as well as enhancing the credibility of the People profession.

If you are a CIPD member and would like to get more involved with the branch, whether it be support for the committee, delivering an event, suggesting a topic to cover or inviting new members, please get in touch.

Networking and learning

With workshops, round tables, panel discussions and expert speakers, our thought-provoking events cover everything our community needs. Network, learn and stay up to date.
