Welcome to our branch
As Branch Chair of the CIPD Hertfordshire Branch, I welcome you. We have a very active programme of events across the year, and you're very welcome to join us at any of our virtual or face-to-face events. Do check out our regular branch mailings for what is coming up.
Our committee of branch volunteers support all our events and special interest groups. We try to tailor our programmes to all our members, wherever you're in your HR career, including our very active independent and consultants group and our support for student members.
As a profession, we have some challenges ahead as we begin to navigate the changing world of work and ways of working. As a branch, we want to help support your professional and personal development by offering a programme tailored to learning more about these.
We're very interested to hear from our community members on what we offer as a branch and regularly canvas your views on this to help us develop and deliver an events programme that is interesting and exciting for you. Please do feel free at any time to contact us.
Thank you for your continuing support, and I look forward to welcoming you at our upcoming events.

Get involved
Hertfordshire is a large and lively branch, with around 3,500 members and a thriving and supportive local HR community. We run a popular programme of evening and weekend events, designed to help local people professionals develop their knowledge and network with like-minded people. Sessions are a mix of both virtual and face-to-face with plenty of opportunities for interaction and discussion with fellow professionals.
Our branch events are listed on Eventbrite, and all forthcoming sessions are promoted in our regular newsletters. Book your place early, as our sessions are often over-subscribed. Our branch committee members are always keen to welcome those who have not been to a branch event before – you'll find us a friendly and inclusive group.
We're always looking for enthusiastic local CIPD members to get involved in the planning and running of our events. Joining us as a 'friend' of the committee is a great way to start learning more about what we do and contributing your own ideas. If you’d like to find out more, please get in touch.
Anyone can sign up for the regular branch mailing to keep updated with what’s happening or join our HR in Herts group on LinkedIn, which is another of our regular communication channels. Some of our events are put on at short notice in reaction to topical issues, and this is often the first place you will find out about what is coming up. The group also provides a great opportunity to network with colleagues, share experiences and make new connections.
