Working Lives Scotland is CIPD’s annual benchmark of job quality in Scotland. Each year, we survey more than 1,000 workers from different sectors and occupations about key aspects of their work and employment. The resulting data and our analysis provide evidence-based insights for people professionals, employers and policy-makers.

The report gives an overview of how employees view aspects of their work and what factors most influence whether their experience is positive or negative. Crucially, it highlights significant associations between those factors and five business-related outcomes: job satisfaction, likelihood of recommending one’s employer, willingness to work harder than one has to, making innovative suggestions and the likelihood of voluntarily quitting one’s job.

While based on Scottish data, the findings, their implications and the recommendations for work and people practices should be of relevant interest wherever you are based. Download the full report.
