Speakers bios

Lisa Kemp

Working in employment law gives Lisa a diverse workload and client portfolio, spanning both contentious and non-contentious matters. It is a fast-paced and politically influenced area of law, requiring a pragmatic and commercially focused approach.

Lisa takes the time to understand clients and their businesses, building strong and trusting relationships along the way. With a focus on being responsive and delivering practical, commercially tailored solutions, Lisa does not over-promise but aims to over-deliver. Advice is always provided within the context of each client’s risk profile and wider objectives, with a focus on adding value wherever possible. This can include making valuable introductions to others within Lisa’s network.

The commercial client base ranges from small, owner-managed businesses with just a handful of employees to large, well-known global brands.

Lisa’s specialisms include representing both claimants and respondents in employment tribunal proceedings, providing day-to-day HR support, advising on restructuring and redundancy, and drafting employment documentation. Lisa also negotiates employee exits and settlement disputes, as well as providing corporate support on the employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions, disposals and corporate restructuring.

Additional experience includes guiding employers through TUPE and delivering HR and employment law training.

Outside of work, Lisa’s passions include travel and keeping fit.
