About this event

And interactive and collaborative hour to consider changes needed across recruitment, induction and line manager capabilities.

With the day one and six-month unfair dismissal changes under the Employment Rights Act fast approaching, how we manage the first six months of employment is about to change.

From January 2027, dismissing an employee post 6 months will require a fully fair reason and process, meaning recruitment, induction, and probation must be robust. HR and line managers need to be clearer, faster, and more rigorous with feedback, documentation, and support from day one.

Join us for this CIPD Herts Branch event, led by Sarah Luke and Jennifer Budu, in an interactive, virtual session designed with peer exercises to help you review your current practices.

We invite participants to collaborate with peers to identify the weak points in your own probation practices and uncover hidden risks, leaving with an action plan to prepare you, your managers, and your workflows for the transition.
