About this event

Resilient as fudge: The neuroscience of resilience (even when work isn’t). With Dr Glenda Rivoallan, resilience expert.

What really happens in your brain when pressure hits? This engaging webinar explores the science behind resilience in a simple, relatable way. Discover why we react the way we do under stress—and how small shifts in thinking and behaviour can help individuals and teams handle challenges with greater confidence and clarity.

In today’s fast-paced and high-pressure workplaces, resilience is often talked about—but rarely understood at a meaningful level. Too often, it’s framed as “toughening up” or simply coping better. But the reality is far more nuanced—and far more human.

This engaging and thought-provoking session explores the neuroscience behind resilience, helping you understand what’s really happening in the brain during stress, pressure, and overwhelm. From the role of the Amygdala in triggering threat responses, to how the Prefrontal Cortex supports rational thinking, you’ll gain practical insight into why people react the way they do—and how those responses can be reshaped.

At the heart of the session is Dr Glenda Rivoallan’s “Resilient as Fudge” model—a refreshingly realistic, flexible framework that moves away from rigid, one-size-fits-all approaches. Instead, it offers a practical way to navigate stress by combining emotional awareness, cognitive reframing, behavioural action, growth, and energy management.

Crucially, this webinar goes beyond individual coping strategies. It challenges organisations to reflect on the environments they create—highlighting the impact of workload, culture, and psychological safety on resilience. Because resilience isn’t just a personal responsibility—it’s a shared one.

In this session, you will:

  • Understand the neuroscience of stress and resilience in a workplace context
  • Learn why traditional approaches to resilience often fall short
  • Explore the Resilience as Fudge model and how to apply it in real-world situations
  • Gain practical tools to support both individual and team resilience
  • Reflect on how to build more supportive, sustainable workplace cultures

This is not about asking people to do more with less. It’s about helping people—and organisations—respond better, together
