About this event

AI is shaping recruitment, performance management and employee relations—the real question is how organisations implement it responsibly.

This session explores the practical, legal and ethical realities of using AI in people functions.

AI is already influencing recruitment, performance management and employee relations. The question is not whether it will be used, but how responsibly it is implemented.

This session explores the practical, legal and ethical realities of using AI in people functions.

In this session we will cover:

  • How bias becomes embedded in AI systems through historical data and legal precedent
  • What accountability looks like when automated systems influence hiring, promotion or dismissal decisions
  • The implications of PII in training data
  • GDPR considerations including lawful basis, transparency and data minimisation
  • The responsibilities of Data Protection Officers and data controllers when AI tools are introduced
  • Data retention, model training and what happens to employee information entered into AI systems
  • Designing and implementing a clear, workable AI policy for organisations
  • Appropriate and inappropriate use cases within HR and people teams
  • How structured prompting and human review reduce risk and improve reliability

The session will provide a practical framework to help HR leaders adopt AI in a way that is fair, compliant and aligned with organisational values
