About this event

Learn how to handle layoffs with honesty and confidence while keeping everyone’s dignity intact.

If redundancies are on the cards, getting this right matters - for your people, your culture, and you as an HR professional.

Redundancy is one of the most stressful life events people go through. In today’s challenging job market, how organisations handle this process can have a lasting impact on employee wellbeing, employer reputation, and trust.

This free webinar is designed for HR professionals who want to approach redundancy with clarity, care, and confidence , even in difficult circumstances.

We’ll cover:

  • Key considerations before making redundancies
  • The legal must-haves and common pitfalls to avoid
  • Practical tips for delivering consultations with empathy and integrity
  • Supporting both exiting employees and those who remain
  • How outplacement support can ease transitions and reduce risk
  • Live Q&A

You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions and join a supportive space with other HR professionals navigating similar challenges.

You’ll leave with greater confidence, practical guidance, and reassurance that you’re doing the right thing , even when the situation is hard.

Guest speakers bios:

Suzanne Penny

Suzanne Penny is a Career Transition Specialist and Founder of Empowered Space, a Gloucestershire-based outplacement and people development consultancy.

Suzanne has experienced multiple redundancies herself and has supported thousands of professionals to navigate career transition throughout her career in outplacement and recruitment. She launched Empowered Space at the end of a fixed-term HR contract during the pandemic, after witnessing the scale of redundancies and lack of personalised, human-centred support available. She began by creating a free community to help people navigate uncertainty with confidence and clarity.

With over 15 years’ experience delivering 1:1 and group outplacement programmes, Suzanne’s background spans recruitment, learning and development, and executive coaching. She now partners with organisations to deliver thoughtful transition support that protects employer brand, while genuinely empowering people to move forward.
