Suzanne Penny
Suzanne Penny is a Career Transition Specialist and Founder of Empowered Space, a Gloucestershire-based outplacement and people development consultancy.
Suzanne has experienced multiple redundancies herself and has supported thousands of professionals to navigate career transition throughout her career in outplacement and recruitment. She launched Empowered Space at the end of a fixed-term HR contract during the pandemic, after witnessing the scale of redundancies and lack of personalised, human-centred support available. She began by creating a free community to help people navigate uncertainty with confidence and clarity.
With over 15 years’ experience delivering 1:1 and group outplacement programmes, Suzanne’s background spans recruitment, learning and development, and executive coaching. She now partners with organisations to deliver thoughtful transition support that protects employer brand, while genuinely empowering people to move forward.
Laura Mathews
Laura Mathews FCIPD is a self-employed HR Consultant and founder of epocHRebel, supporting growing organisations to build courageous, high-performing cultures with a people-first approach. With 26 years in HR and senior leadership experience, Laura blends commercial realism with human-centred practice—helping businesses improve leadership, employee relations, culture, and compliance in ways that actually work day-to-day. She’s particularly passionate about moving HR away from policy-heavy approaches and toward practical capability-building for managers and leaders. Laura is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and Chair of the Gloucestershire CIPD Committee.
