Marie and the team will present an update in relation to all employment law related matters since the last update in October 2025.


Marie Walsh

Marie Walsh is an experienced employment lawyer who has acted on behalf of a wide range of clients range of clients throughout her 23 years of practice. She is ranked in both the Legal 500 and Chambers. She is well known and respected amongst her clients and peers for her straightforward no nonsense approach to the issues and her common sense attitude when it comes to costs. Marie has exclusively practised in the field of employment law advice employment law advice and now acts predominantly on behalf of businesses and senior executives in all areas of employment law including;

  • Contract/policy drafting
  • Post termination restrictions/restraints of trade
  • Discrimination
  • Settlement agreements
  • TUPE
  • Disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Preparing and advising on settlement agreements
  • Managing sickness absences
  • Redundancy advice
  • Negotiating exit arrangements/termination packages
  • Early conciliation
  • Employment tribunal representation

Marie’s commercial clients range in size from a number of SME’s with around 5-25 employees to employees to multinational organisations and a number of independent schools. Marie is also a visiting lecturer on a number of post-graduate courses delivered by at least 2 major national educational institutions which keeps her up to date with all areas of her specialism. In addition, Marie delivers regular training and updates to CIPD members both to CIPD members both in person and by way of informative webinars; Marie delivers specific specific in house training as required and is a great communicator.

Marie is also a trained workplace mediator and assists clients with dispute resolution where appropriate. Marie is a main committee member for the Employment Lawyers Association and also Association and also a regional co-ordinator for the ELIPS pro bono scheme.
