About this event

A virtual event exploring the challenges of managing work and cancer, and how to best support colleagues affected by cancer.

We are delighted to host this virtual session on supporting colleagues affected by cancer.

Led by Maggie Newton, Head of Training for Working with Cancer.

Working With Cancer is a social enterprise that helps employees, employers, the self-employed, job seekers and carers to manage cancer and work. They coach, train and advise employers on how to successfully manage cancer in the workplace, and they coach and guide individuals affected by cancer on returning to work, remaining in work or finding employment at any stage during or after cancer treatment, including those living with advanced, secondary or terminal cancer.

In this session you will gain a greater awareness and understanding of the challenges of managing work and cancer; and how best to support a colleague affected by cancer, including:

  • The impact of cancer treatment and it’s emotional and physical side effects
  • The unique challenges of managing work and cancer
  • How and when to talk about cancer at work
  • Top tips for supporting colleagues
  • Resources, including Working With Cancer services
