This month’s interactive one-hour session will bring together senior HR professionals to explore what productivity and performance mean in today’s workplace. Through discussion and shared insight, we will examine how these concepts are defined across different industries, what high performance looks like in practice, and the levers organisations are using to enable people and teams to deliver their best.

You will come away with a clearer understanding of how productivity and performance are being defined across different organisational contexts, alongside practical insight into the levers HR teams are using to enable better outcomes. You will gain fresh perspectives from peers, ideas to apply within your own organisations, and a stronger sense of how HR can shape the conditions for sustainable high performance through the peer-to-peer discussions.

This event forms part of the Senior People Professionals Network, bringing together senior practitioners from across sectors, the network creates opportunities for strategic discussion, shared learning and professional connection. Sessions focus on leadership, organisational impact, future trends and the changing world of work. All of our sessions are led by the Network Champions.

Ahead of the session, you'll receive a recent article from Work Magazine to review, 'Who are you calling a cost centre?'. We'll begin with a short 10-minute presentation exploring the key themes and insights, before moving into breakout discussions. These conversations are designed to encourage the sharing of experiences, perspectives and practical approaches, so please come prepared to contribute your thoughts and learn from fellow peers.

Senior people professionals network

For CIPD members only, this network is for those with strategic responsibility for people and organisational policy.

It provides a trusted space to share insights, reflect on challenges, and strengthen leadership resilience. Members join an active online community on Mighty and benefit from a year-round programme of regional and national events, both in person and online.

Typical roles include Head of HR, Senior HR Business Partner, or People Lead – often reporting to the board or executive level and shaping people strategy and organisational culture.

By joining, you’ll connect with peers in similar roles, gain fresh perspectives, and contribute to CIPD’s research and policy agenda – helping shape the future of the people profession.

Network membership eligibility

Important: These events are exclusively for CIPD members who have successfully joined the relevant People Professional Network. Our network events are designed as member-only spaces where professionals can connect with peers, share experiences and discuss challenges in a trusted environment.

To register for this event, you will need a network member access code.

All approved network members receive this code:

• In their network welcome email.

• In subsequent communications relating to the network.

• In invitations to network events.

You will be asked to enter this code on Eventbrite to access tickets for this session.

This is a member discussion session, not a webinar.

Our People Professional Network events are designed to help network members connect, collaborate and learn from one another through active participation and peer-to-peer discussion.

Throughout the session, attendees will participate in breakout room discussions with fellow network members, sharing experiences, challenges, ideas and practical solutions.

To get the most from the session, please come prepared to contribute to conversations and engage with your peers. You do not need to be an expert; the value comes from members learning together.
