Understanding motivation to support wellbeing, engagement and performance with Motivation Specialist Sarah Stones.

About this event

Understanding motivation to support wellbeing, engagement and performance with Motivation Specialist Sarah Stones.

We will explore the link between motivation, wellbeing and performance at work. The session looks at what genuinely drives people, why one-size-fits-all approaches to engagement often fall short, and how a deeper understanding of individual motivation can help organisations reduce stress, improve retention, and build more engaged, higher-performing teams.

Attendees will gain

  • A clearer understanding of the link between motivation, wellbeing and performance
  • Insight into why engagement strategies often underdeliver, and what tends to work better in practice
  • Practical approaches for having more meaningful conversations about motivation with employees and teams
  • Ideas for embedding motivation-aware thinking into people strategy, from onboarding to retention
  • Confidence to apply these principles immediately both personally and within their own organisation

About the speaker

Sarah Stones, Plain Sailing Motivation

Sarah Stones is a Cambridgeshire-based Speaker, Trainer and Coach specialising in motivation, and founder of Plain Sailing Motivation. With over 30 years in HR, she has seen first-hand how understanding motivation shapes engagement, wellbeing and performance. She now helps organisations put that understanding into practice.

Sarah combines her HR background with positive psychology to give HR and L&D professionals practical, evidence-based tools they can use straight away. A TEDx speaker, she has delivered keynotes and training for organisations including the NHS and AstraZeneca.

Sarah is clear that she is not a motivational speaker — motivation, she says, is an inside job. Expect a session grounded in real HR experience, with tools you can put to work in your own organisation immediately.
