About this event

This event explores how employee vulnerabilities link to culture, and how managers and HR can support staff to reduce insider risk.

Student and Early Careers Event

This event will consider employee actions and behaviours which may have been influenced by personal or professional vulnerabilities; and will consider the correlation to organisational culture as well as the role of line managers and HRM in supporting vulnerable employees in a bid to reduce the escalation of intentional or unintentional insider risk activities.

Most people think of insider threat/risk as being related to employees who deliberately target their organisation to cause damage or harm. Such individuals will likely be dealt with by punishment, prosecution or dismissal. However, what about the risks posed to an organisation from employees who have not set out to deliberately attack or compromise it, but their behaviour nonetheless has (or could) cause organisational damage.

This talk will consider employee actions and behaviours which may have been influenced by personal or professional vulnerabilities; and will consider the correlation to organisational culture as well as the role of line managers and HRM in supporting vulnerable employees in a bid to reduce the escalation of intentional or unintentional insider risk activities.
