The event will provide an overview of the CIPD CPD resources, generate ideas for accessing CPD and will promote sharing of CPD experiences.
This will be an informal session where there will be an opportunity to share learning activities which have had a big impact and also discuss potential future opportunities for supporting CPD.
Learning Outcomes:
This event is suitable for anyone interested in progressing their CPD, students or people interested in studying the CIPD professional qualifications.
This event will be hosted by Philippa Hardy (Chair of the CIPD Branch in Cumbria), Ethan Kinney, Lyndsey Fitheridge and Hayley Edgar (The CIPD Branch in Cumbria committee members).
Philippa Hardy: Philippa is the HR Advice, Policy and Change Manager at the Cumberland Council in Cumbria. Philippa has 10 years experience as a Lecturer teaching on the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice and the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management as well as Leadership and Management.Philippa has also held a number of senior roles within the public sector and private HR consultancy.
Philippa is a strong advocate for lifelong learning and continuing professional development having observed first hand the impact of this on people’s lives and opportunities.Philippa is a Chartered Member of the CIPD and Chair of The CIPD Branch in Cumbria.
Ethan Kinney: Ethan leads the HR & People Services in an SME called ICE Creates that works across the UK and specialises in behaviour change. Ethan has over four years of experience in HR looking at onboarding, recruitment, and employee relations. He has also just recently finished his level 5 CIPD associate diploma in people management.
Ethan joined the CIPD Branch in Cumbria as a committee member in September 2024 and the reason for this is that he's passionate for professional development especially in the people profession as the work can be complex, Ethan feels it's really important that people professionals are educating themselves to enable them to lead the way within their organisations.
