2025 has already proven to be an extraordinary and pivotal year for HR professionals, marked by the ambitious and fast-moving programme of employment law reforms stemming from the Employment Rights Bill. Employers cannot afford to delay or ignore these proposed changes and HR professionals need to understand the practical implications of the new employment law landscape. This session will provide a practical overview of the various reforms, including ‘casual’ workers’ rights, collective redundancy/’fire and rehire’ practices, unfair dismissal law, trade union legislation and SSP.

Helena Morrissey, Legal Director


Helena is an experienced Employment Lawyer with over 16 years’ experience. Helena's work covers the full range of employment law topics, from large-scale, complex project work such as TUPE transfers, restructures, redundancies and change management, to day to day HR issues (and everything in between).

Helena enjoys training and have devised and delivered training on a wide range of topics, including mental health in the workplace, and diversity, equality and inclusion.

Siobhan Mulrey, Legal Director

Siobhan is a specialist employment lawyer advising employers in all areas of contentious and non-contentious employment and HR matters. Siobhan acts for a wide range of employers in all commercial sectors, from SMEs to multinational employers, as well as charities and independent health and social care organisations.

Siobhan has expertise and experience supporting clients in the Education sector and, since qualifying as a solicitor in 2011, and has worked with a number of state-maintained and faith schools; academies and multi-academy trusts; independent schools; and further education colleges.
