About this event

The CIPD Branch in Devon and Cornwall annual summery and employment law update from Ashfords LLP

Our final session for the 2024-25 event year will combine our annual meeting and an employment law update.

Kirstie Wright, our Branch Chair, will start by with our annual review of branch committee membership and activity, with a heads-up on plans for the next event year beginning in the autumn.

We'll then move into an employment law update with our guest speaker James Collings, a Partner with the employment team at Ashfords LLP, who will provide us with an update on recent employment law developments. James brings a wealth of experience in employment law and has a strong track record of collaborating with HR professionals on both contentious and non-contentious matters.

During this session, James will provide insights on several recent developments in employment law:

  • Transgender employees and toilet use: an update following a recent Supreme Court decision
  • Sexual harassment: how to comply with the new duty
  • Neonatal care and leave: a new right for families
  • Employment rights bill: key updates
