How organisations can safely use AI tools in recruitment processes taking account of data protection legislation and case law
Matt Jones and Ben Gnatiuk from the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) are using their considerable knowledge of data protection legislation and case law to show how organisations can safely use AI tools in recruitment processes by ensuring their processes meet employee rights.
The ICO had been invited into organisations using AI in recruitment to audit their processes for adherence to GDPR. The ICO report gives 300 recommendations about making AI tools safe. They will explain how carefully written policies, monitoring and making changes, can provide confidence that the recruitment process is fair and meets legislation and case law.
Their advice additionally will assist organisations in ensuring that equality, diversity, inclusion (EDI) systems are embedded in the processes. This is particularly the case for special category data which might be collected during the recruitment process. In addition to explaining the results of the report, Matt and Ben are giving practical responses to questions asked by organisations following the release of the report. They are sharing good ideas for positive improvements for people professionals at work.
