We’ll help you understand what you need to know to prepare and how to deal with thorny problems in your response, what is disclosable and your options when the claimant ignores their deadlines.
This session will allow you to:-
- understand the key stages in the Employment Tribunal process
- support your organisation when a claim arrives
- steer your organisation through the key stages, whether you are instructing solicitors or defending the claim in house
- deal with the disclosure of your evidence
- identify what witnesses are helpful and what their witness statements need to cover
- alert you to tactical issues; and
- suggest alternatives your stakeholders may want to consider rather than fighting the claim.
About the speaker
Melanie Stancliffe
Melanie Stancliffe is a partner at Cripps LLP. In her 25 years of working in the City and London, she has specialised in working for businesses on the full range of employment issues. She is valued by her clients for her jargon-free, commercial approach and her advanced negotiating skills.
She acted in the leading Tribunal case of Wardle v Calyon (Credit Agricole) on career-long loss and regularly advises on worker status. Her clients range from financial services, tech, retail and service businesses, from scale ups to PLCs and owner managed businesses. She is a French speaker, a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and regularly comments in the press, radio and TV on employment issues.
