About this event

The need to apply critical thinking and interpret data is ever increasing. We will explore these skills and provide you practical tips.

In an evolving workplace, the need for HR and L&D professionals to combine critical thinking with data literacy skills is ever increasing. Metrics, key performance indicators and perhaps even predictive analytics are becoming part of our everyday roles, however our comfort levels with interrogating and interpreting this data may still be playing catch up. The CIPD HR Profession Map highlights the need for an evidence-based approach, making these skills essential for driving meaningful decisions and creating organisational value in the future.

This session will assist with sharpening your critical thinking abilities and will support you to develop your data literacy. Together, we will cover:

  • Understanding critical thinking and data literacy within the evidence-based approach
  • Overcoming common barriers to critical thinking and effective use of data
  • Identifying valuable data sources and their strategic use
  • Techniques for questioning, corroborating, and drawing insights from data
  • Considering the data literacy of your organisation
  • Top tips to enhance critical thinking skills
