Professionalism matters – learning and insight from supervision, coaching and reflection to help us thrive as people professionals
This event is all about YOU as a people professional. It’s suitable for those new to this exciting and rewarding career and also those who’ve experienced the highs and lows over many years.
Join others from your local branch of the CIPD to explore:
• what professionalism means in our context and why it matters
• the support available for each of us to keep learning and growing as people professionals • how reflection, coaching and supervision can help us thrive in our roles
Tara Hopkins (one of our Branch Co-Chairs) will introduce the event by talking about what it means to be a people professional and why “professionalism matters”. We’ll also discuss the support available to help us thrive and grow as people professionals. Please do bring along and share your own stories of what’s helped you thrive and grow during your own career so far.
Emma Canter (of Mind Values Leadership) will then present her thoughts on how we can continue getting better at what we do, sharing insights from supervision, coaching and reflection.
In particular we’ll explore the concept of supervision within the people profession - as a supportive process where you can reflect on your practice in a safe, psychological space. It provides opportunities to gain objectivity, explore difficult situations and ethical issues, and support self-awareness and self-care.
There’ll also be plenty of time to network, socialise and celebrate being a people professional. We’ll be providing light refreshments for attendees.
About the speaker
Emma Canter is an experienced leadership development consultant, facilitator, and coach. She is based locally and established Mind Values Leadership in 2019. Her background is firmly rooted in HR and people management, having worked at a senior level in the UK and North America.
In 2016, Emma took her own brave next step to leave the corporate world and start her own leadership development business. This was rebranded to Mind Values Leadership to reflect the values that guide her work: transparency, authenticity, and a commitment to leading from the heart.
