The Manx Industrial Relations Service offers free, confidential help, advice, and dispute conciliation through its impartial MIRS team.
The Manx Industrial Relations Service (MIRS) is a free, confidential and impartial service that through the MIRS team provides best practice employment advice and also helps conciliates disputes.
Come along and hear from Kim Emery, the Industrial Relations Officer, how the MIRS team provides this service, what a typical day may look like for us and what trends we are seeing across the employment landscape of the Isle of Man.

MIRS events are always popular and provide a unique and valuable insight into disputes at work.
The small team provides a valuable service for employers and employees. The employment legislation requires them to offer conciliation in all Equality and Employment Tribunal complaints.
Speakers bio:
Kim Emery is the Industrial Relations Officer at the Manx Industrial Relations Service, holds a Level 7 Human Resource Management qualification with the CIPD and is an accredited interpersonal mediator. She also sat on the Isle of Man CIPD committee for a number of years, latterly as Chair. Prior to taking up the post, Kim was a practising employment and corporate advocate for a number of years as well as being the Clerk to the Isle of Man Employment Tribunal. As such, Kim has a unique skill set in order to carry out the statutory function of the Industrial Relations Officer.
As the Industrial Relations Officer, Kim is responsible for leading and managing a small, experienced team of Deputy Industrial Relations Officer who together strive to ensure a stable industrial relations climate on the Island by providing best practice employment advice and conciliating disputes
