Introduction to coaching - understand what coaching is, and the key skills required to be an effective coach.

Part of a manager’s responsibility is to develop their people, enabling individuals to reach their potential. Coaching is a powerful skill and a key leadership style when used in an appropriate context.

The session will be particularly helpful for those who want to use coaching as part of their repertoire to develop others.

You will learn

  • When coaching is appropriate and when it is not;
  • The spectrum of coaching interventions;
  • A model of coaching.

During this interactive session you will have an opportunity to engage in the coaching process and experience the effectiveness of coaching.


Guest speaker: Sabehia Mohamed

Sabehia draws on over 30 years of experience in organisational change, leadership and team development. Her mission is to empower individuals and organisations to unleash their full potential and enhance performance.

Sabehia works internationally with clients in the private, public and third sectors which has sharpened her understanding of the complex challenges faced by people and organisations in varying contexts.

Sabehia holds a master’s degree in French and German, an Executive MBA in International Business, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. She also has a Diploma in Advanced Executive Coaching and a Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel Management.

She is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and an Executive Fellow of Henley Business School.

Prior to founding her business, Sabehia was as a senior consultant with KPMG and Sheppard Moscow. She has also held senior leadership positions as Head of Human Resources for Berkshire County Council's Education Department and Personnel Manager of Aberdeen College.
