About this event

Your CIPD cheat sheet! The most relevant bits of CIPD’s recent research, insights, and analysis; condensed into one webinar.

Rapid Research

Not had time to read all of CIPD’s recent research, insights, and analysis? How about if we took the most relevant ones for Senior People Professionals and Independent Consultants, condensed them into bitesized pieces, and put them into one webinar?

In Rapid Research we will capture the key points from some standout pieces of CIPD research, presented by the authors themselves. Curated specifically for Senior People Professionals and Independent Consultants, these reports will cover the important topics in HR, the people profession, and the wider economy. This is your cheat sheet!

After the presentations, attendees will be able to choose a breakout session from 13:30-14:00 to discuss the findings with the authors, gain more in-depth knowledge, and continue the discussion.

What we’ll be covering:

CIPD Labour Market Outlook

The quarterly CIPD Labour Market Outlook (LMO) provides an early indication of future changes to the labour market around recruitment, redundancy and pay intentions. The findings are based on a survey of more than 2,000 employers.

James Cockett, CIPD Labour Market Economist, will present our latest labour market data and analysis on employers’ recruitment, redundancy and pay intentions.

Working Lives Scotland

Working Lives Scotland is the CIPD’s annual benchmark on job quality in Scotland. Based on the seventh annual UK Working Lives survey, we survey over 1,000 workers from different sectors and occupations about key aspects of their work and employment to offer evidence-based insights for people professionals, employers and policy-makers to improve work and working lives.

The CIPD's Working Lives Scotland report examines how people work in Scotland and what they think about it.

The technology factsheet

As technology changes rapidly, so does the CIPD’s technology factsheet. The next update will be completed in August, and our technology expert Hayfa Mohdzaini will be on hand to explain some of the key changes. These are likely to include discussion of the range of technologies in HR; defining and demystifying AI; responsible use of technology; and how technology is changing jobs including HR's role.

Speakers:

  • James Cockett, Senior Labour Market Economist, CIPD
  • Marek Zemanik, Senior Public Policy Adviser, CIPD
  • Hayfa Mohdzaini, Technology and People Analytics Senior Advisor, CIPD

Note: The Senior People Professionals Network has been created to provide a great peer-to-peer networking experience for those who are responsible for strategy and management, specifically designed for roles such as Head of HR, and 'heads of' specialist areas such as L&D, OD, reward or talent management, Senior HR Business Partners and Assistant People Director.

The Independent Consultants network has been created to provide a great peer-to-peer networking experience for those who are self-employed in an HR role, or in areas such as coaching, personal development, wellbeing, and ED&I.

These networks are open to both CIPD and non CIPD Members. To be considered as a member of the network, you will be asked several questions prior to being able to register for your ticket to ensure everyone involved in the network is in a senior enough role with management and strategy responsibility, or is self-employed.
