About this event

Hear from Bristol Bus Boycott in 1963, to explore where we have come from regarding race to where we are now.

As we approach the 60th anniversary of the Race Relations Act 1965, come and hear the firsthand experiences of some of those pioneers and civil right activists who took part in Bristol Bus Boycott in 1963, here in the West of England, whose actions paved the way for these first ever anti-racism regulations.

This will be followed by a panel discussion with those currently in the workplace, exploring the everyday reality of challenging and championing racial equality in the workplace and beyond.

With Bristol being voted as the 7th worst place for racial equality (Runnymede Trust 2017) this aims to be a thought provoking session that will encourage attendees to champion racial equality in the workplace and affect change in this area in their own way.

About the speaker: Julz Davis – Disruptor in Chief, Curiosity UnLtd.

We will be joined by some of Bristol’s own Bus Boycotters, true pioneers and civil right activists who experienced racial inequality in the 1960’s.

Alongside this, a panel currently in the workplace who will share their own experiences through their career and in their day to day lives regarding race and diversity.
