September is a time of new beginnings. We are excited to kick off the new term, new academic year with an event dedicated to helping early to mid-career professionals in HR.
We will look at:

· How to get over the ‘No previous HR experience’ scenario
· Growing your HR career
· The various HR Disciplines
· Is it better to be a Generalist or a Specialist?

This event is designed to be interactive. It will take the form of a fireside chat and attendees will be able to ask questions. It will NOT be recorded.
About the speakers
Caroline Roberts
After an early career in radio production at the BBC, Caroline worked in a variety of leadership, learning and HR roles. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, a BAFTA member, and qualified in mediation and psychometric assessment.
Caroline has led people functions in organisations in the public and private sector, including Fox International Channels, Zaha Hadid Architects, Visit Britain, the CBI and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. She is also an Associate Non-Executive Director for Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust, where she is Wellbeing Guardian. Most recently she was Executive Director of People and Culture at Octavia, the housing, social care and charitable organisation founded by Octavia Hill, where she led EDI and culture programmes.
Mark Barnicoat
Mark is a seasoned HR recruiter with over 25 years experience in the HR search space. Originally from Cornwall, he co-founded London based agency Peeq in 2020, placing strategic HR professionals into growth businesses. Mark is known for his honest and direct approach, and leverages advanced tools and his vast network to maintain a 90% success rate for his clients.
