Gareth Whalley will share his experiences of creating diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies in different organisational contexts.
During this session, Gareth will share his experiences of creating diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies in different organisational contexts. He’ll guide us through key questions to consider and a recommended process to follow, allowing time for small group discussion and individual reflections, and leaving us with concrete takeaways that we can use when we return to the office.

Gareth Whalley is the Founder, CEO, and Chief Connection Officer of Big Bang People Solutions, an HR consultancy specialised in diversity, equity and inclusion, reward and recognition, and change management and communications. Big Bang helps organisations build holistic solutions to complex people issues, focused on enhancing employee and customer experiences.
Before launching Big Bang, Gareth spent over 20 years in generalist and specialist HR leadership roles in multinational organizations including Procter & Gamble, IBM, The Coca-Cola Company, and Levi Strauss & Co. In recent years, he has focused his efforts on driving meaningful culture change in diversity, equity, and inclusion, first leading the global inclusion practice at Coca-Cola, and later serving as the Head of DE&I for Europe at Levi’s.
Gareth describes himself as a human being with passions for language and beautiful design, and a personal purpose to make work life better for as many people as he can. He’s principled and values-driven, a strong connector and relationship builder, a safe space, a wellbeing advocate, and determined to help people not take everything so seriously. He is based in the North East of England.
